• Assist in the management and configuration of our software stack in both development and production environments
  • Provision, manage, and decommission gnu/linux installations running on bare metal, in linux/kvm virtual machines, and in our kiosk products
  • Contribute to monitoring infrastructure and participate in on-call rotation
  • Coordinate with hardware and datacenter vendors to spec, order, and deliver hardware and datacenter real estate (including power and bandwidth)
  • Contribute to managing hardware platform, working on-site at datacenter locations to install and remove hardware
  • Design, manage, and maintain network infrastructure, including network addressing, core routing, virtual private networks, and bandwidth management
  • Write automation scripts in python and bash to avoid wasting time on repetitive tasks.
  • Communicate professionally and liberally with teammates across the Engineering organization
  • Provide high-level support to Integration Engineering and Office IT personnel
  • Add value to the organization with creative and innovative problem-solving

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ full-time experience as a gnu/linux systems admin (Debian/Ubuntu preferred)
  • Experience contributing to diverse engineering teams
  • Basic familiarity with development processes and methodology
  • Advanced shell scripting skills and basic familiarity with python
  • Thorough understanding of gnu/linux operation and internals
  • Understanding of hardware, power, and bandwidth scaling and pricing structures
  • Experience with SQL databases and ability to compose basic queries
  • Understanding of version control concepts and applications
  • Understanding of security setup and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with markup and data interchange formats: HTML, XML, JSON, etc.
